Hello Everyone,
This is my first post, and I did try to search to see if anyone else posted about this. I have a '68 Coronet that is doing something that I have not seen before. I had a parasitic drain that I found was caused by an aftermarket security system. I removed the security system and the drain issue was resolved. Now I have approximately 0.15mA from the removed negative cable to the negative battery post, which is fine, but I am reading 12.7VDC at the same spot. (Negative battery post to the removed negative cable). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

In my opinion you still have a drain. Start at the fuse box and remove one fuse at a time until there is 0 draw. By the way go to the Welcome Wagon and introduce yourself and car and post some pictures of your project.

Connecting the meter leads between the disconnected cable and the battery post is putting the meter inline in the circuit. This is basically just testing voltage "potential" at the point of the open in the circuit. So a battery voltage reading is normal for how you connected the meter in the circuit.
