Hi guys and gals..does anybody have a special method to getting the inside rear window moulding (top pieces) to stay put? I installed new pieces about a year ago and one side is falling off. They didn't go on very tight when they were new, for that matter....typical reproduction part problems...

Really I think the #1 thing is for the glass to be installed at the right height. Outside of that just make sure the clips are clean of sealant, the lip on the trim is good and that the tang on the clips aren't flattened out.

Thanks for the reply..These are the plastic pieces that clip over the edge of the headliner though

Went back and re read your post...:realcrazy: must have breezed through and overlooked the "INSIDE" part:rolleyes:. On that note good luck, my reproduction pieces are falling out too. I seam to remember cussing about how poor the quality and fit was on mine.

I had a problem with them going on the shark tooth retainer, ended up straightening a few bends in them, you can also bend them to get the trim to lay consistant. and also cut some of the headliner seam material which was causing them not to clip on . aftermarket center top 1 inch piece broke ended up using 50 year old original, worked fine, good luck!

a little spray adhesive helps also, obviously sprayed into a container and painted on each side, with a small brush then 30 second wait before contact.

They go either way....too loose or to tight....

You can space out some tape every foot and fold the tape over the headliner retainer. To get more thickness to allow it to hold better. You may have to add tape layers to get the right thickness...
