In the restoration of my 69 Super Bee, I am basically installing new everything except for backing plates and drums, which have been reconditioned and turned.

Like a lot of old cars, there were some incorrect parts here and there including brakes, and there were no adjusters in them.

Pros and Cons of installing them new or just adjusting manually when needed? Would appreciate your experience.

TIA

I just went through some updates on my 67 wagon. Put 11x2.5's on the rear with all new components. My rh side kept giving me issues being too tight even after I backed them off some. I ended up taking the self adjusters off for now. The cables are the same length between r & l, not sure what's up. Bought the Carlson packages, they've been around for many years, but doing without for now. I need to address this down the road as I like having them.

You,can do a lot of driving before they need adjusted again.

Manual adjust is way simple and no problems of brakes too tight as many report with todays self adjuster kits.

I'm going to do without for now. Just manual adjust. Was pretty dissapointed.

I've always been adjusting mine manually as needed since the '80's.
