Does anybody know the process to remove this? I'm talking about the black support above the grill running from fender to fender. At first glance it looks like I could just unbolt it from the top, but upon further inspection, it seems to be much more involved (?)

I don't own a 69 Charger, but in most cases it just unbolts from the top. Sometimes it can be attached with a couple "push in" plastic connectors to the top of the center grille section too.

On the 68 and 69 chargers that piece is spot welded to the headlight buckets and the rest of the grill support. You would have to remove it with the whole grill including the support arm that attaches to the bottom of the radiator support.

That's what I thought. I'd really like to have it sandblasted and resprayed so I'd prefer to remove it, but not sure it's worth it.
Thanks.

It also attaches to the valance radiator support and fenders under head lights
I do believe it's possible to remove the whole assembly.
