Thank you very much. Now, do you take the switch out by itself or do you have to take out the whole assembly, and is there an easy way to do it?It will. There are old plastic pins that were melted over to hold it on. The pins got brittle and broke. I cut the pins flush, drilled holes in each one and ran a tap down them for #4 screws. Cleaned and lubed it up then put the back plate back on with #4 screws.
Thanks Billccm. I am going to try to repair mine first.
Thanks. Yes, it looks like someone has been in there before. I take it that you recommend screwing the back on any replacement switch. This was a few years ago but I THINK I got the switch out without removing the entire assembly. I see there has been some custom wiring on the blower switch too.... There are just 2 screws that hold it in from the bottom. There is an electrical connector and vacuum connector on the back of the cover that popped off.

Do you remember how to disconnect the slider controls from the switch?
I'll give it a shot. How about the vacuum connection? It looks like there's a clip that goes over the housing.I do recall that I rolled the switch to 90 degrees and they all just rolled out of the sockets all at the same time.
