has anybody ever had problems with coronet super bee b body front fender bolts not lineing up? was there problems out of the factory? do you have to tweek things or drill new holes and weld up old holes. these are not the original fenders these are of 69 coronet are the different from 2 door to 4 door or from non super bee originals? what do i need to do to get bolts in these fenders any body have any idea whats going on or had any problems with this

All Coronet fenders in 69 should interchange. 2 or 4 door. Base model, wagon,Superbee and RT should be the same. Only difference is holes for emblems, trim, and fender mounted turn signals.

Which holes are not lining up?

the six that go into the radiator support 3 in each side

Anything else changed out or just fenders?

yes car had been hit on the passenger side some one years back 1980s did a terrible job of putting the used inner fender well on and welded on half a radiator support from a different radiator support so i took it to a shop in floyd iowa they put a new amd inner fender (pass side) and 26 inch radiator support this is a 26 inch radiator car because the option of a 391 rear end left them couple fenders so they could fit together. they wanted 1500 a piece to work the fenders so i took it home, it went to try to bolt the fenders on the radiator support was tipping where the bolt holes for that where about 2.5 inches off.the inner fender bolt holes where at least 2.5 inches off . called him he said if you would have just paid me $40,000.00 youd been driveing it now it had been over a year he said im not doing anything about it. so the i took it to another restoration shop had to cut that new and inner fender off drilled the welds and saved the 26 inch radiator support now it has all the bolts in the fenders by fitting it that way, all but the 6 bolts that go through radiator support 3 on each side just trying to figure out why these restoration shops are haveing such a problem getting all the bolts in the fenders i have heard storys of them comeing from the factory with missing bolts not sure what to think? the second guy also put new amd full rear quarters, full trunk pan, drop downs, trunk filler panel, taillight panel, outer wheel wells right rocker panel stripped and primed lots of things done to this thing, lots to do yet.

Sounds like it is still wrong. Hate to say it but sounds like you need to start over again. Everything will need to be aligned before welding this time. Do a mockup with the fenders in place and set the hood in place to make sure the gaps are workable.

Any pics? Easier to help when we can see what you are seeing.

i have a dvd from this last work done to it if i can figure out how to get it on here i will try might take me some time

Might take it to a frame shop to get it checked.

You can download FormatFactory and pop the dvd into your computer and convert it to a mpeg or any other video format. Its free and works well. Just make sure you don't install the bloatware it may come with.

Any good body man/ shop isn't gonna weld anything till they fit the parts, fender or whatever so I wonder the type of place you're taking your car to. Saving a buck isn't always a good idea when it comes to bodywork. Like 69 GTX said, sounds like you still have something racked from the collision.

this is why i mock everything at the same time.........

the doors should be on the car, lined up parallel with the rockers, and at the proper height as dictated by the top of the quarter

the hood should be on the car lined up with the cowl evenly across the back

at this point, the door to fender gap will dictate the height at the front of the fenders, and the hood will dictate the side to side position of the fenders.

the properly positioned fenders will tell you everything you need to know about the front rails, inner fenders, and rad support
