'69 Coronet tire selection help?

Hey guys, before you ask...yes, I've read some of the recommendations concerning this in the category for other members, but this one's for me. I want to put 15" Magnum 500's on the R/T for street driving. The 14" red line bias ply skinnies are great for the car shows, but are absolutely terrible for even moderate driving and almost unsafe for control and handling (you know what I mean...not much).

I was considering 15x7's with 235-60-15 BFG's on all four corners. The tire diameter is the same as F70-14 which is on there now. I'm dropping in 4.10's soon, so my buddy suggested 225-60-15 front and 275-60-15 rear (15x8 rims). The 275's are 28" tall, which should drop my RPM at 70 about 400 RPM.

I'm undecided and short on cash, so there's no room for mistakes. I want it to look stock and cool. Even though the chromes were phased out after '68, they still look period correct and add just enough flash to "pop" the car. Any advice? comments? tips? Thanks!

That looks good. How was the driving and handling?

275s rear, 235s front. A bit tough to tell because the driveway is slanted down, but it has good rake. Taller rear tire will definitely be better if you are putting a 4.10 in and will be mostly street driven.

That looks good too! Wow, I guess I picked two popular fits. It's hard to choose.

Personally I like the added rake from putting larger tires on the back, which is why we went the route that we did.

The bigger tire for the back also fill the wheel well much better as well. I hate the look of the too small wheel/tire combos that look like a hotdog in a hallway.:rolling:

Exactly. These wheels/tires replaced a set of F70-15s on 6x15 steelies all the way around, and they sure looked tiny. Here's the before picture.
