Looking good bro. I did the same grinding on my hood pins.

Just a side note on hood picture with dimensions. My pins I measured from the edge of the fender, inward. 3.63. I then used the 36.25 to locate the rears. Still brain storming how to attach the rears as they will be dummies.

Got the trim pieces for grill center piece, and installed. They were about .040 bigger, had to tweak the headlight bezels a little to get them to fit on the car

How about cut the pins to the height they stick out of hood and tack weld the pin stubs to the cover plate from the bottom?

Well time for update, took the X to the shop to get vinyl top and front and rear glass installed. Also some other stuff. Probably be 4-6 weeks.
