69 Intake Manifold Heat Crossover Advice

Does anyone use an any sealant between the paper gasket and the intake or the valley pan and paper gasket? Like aviation sealant, or spray?

I use Hylomar, spendy but it usually doesn't cause the gaskets to stick and tear.

I would leave the intake gasket as is and disable the choke. For a fair weather cruiser I don’t think a choke is a necessity.

An alternative to your choke problem might be to “adapt” a later electric well choke.
I did that recently for a 2bbl but i think you can do the same for a 4 bbl .
Look on Rock auto for an early 70s Mopar electric choke.
This one says out of stock but there were others.
