I'm looking at a 69 Roadrunner to buy. Has all the hard work done. New full quarters, trunk and floor pans installed by an old school body man at a professional body shop. Not a homeowner garage job. Originally a 383 4 speed car, but has a 440 now that needs a rebuild. It still needs plenty of work but I would love to finish it myself. I'm a little short on money but hope to be able to negotiate it to where I can buy it. Maybe I should start a "go fund me page" lol. I will be stoked if I can end up with it as my first car ever on the road was a 1969 383 4 speed roadrunner. Wish me luck.

If your happy with the quality of work and what the car is buy it if you can afford it.

Yes there are better and worse deals out there. Being able to see and lay hands on a car before buying is a huge plus. There are cars that look good in pics but when its delivered things dont look so rosy. Just because it is a "done" car does not mean it was done right. I would prefer a project unfinished so i know there is nothing hiding. Nobody brags about getting a good deal on a done car and spending another 10k making it right....not such a good deal after all.....

I assume you're a young person,
good to have some young blood getting into the game...

Good luck, I mean it too...
If that's what you want, go for it &
hopefully it's complete as possible
all the little parts, really start to add up...

These cars are NOT cheap to build !!
even if you do all the work yourself !!

It's sort of a labor of love,
many people bail when they get in too deep...

If this car doesn't pan out, look for a project car someone
has spent the money on, then gave up & try to buy a
"more complete project cheap if you can", finish it to your taste
Remember it ain't easy, there's a crap-load of people already
trying to do that very thing...

If there's a will there's a way...

Yup. I bought my super bee and it was “restored” in 1999. Previous owner put about 3,000 miles on it since it was restored. He always garaged it and never seen rain. I bought it almost 4 years ago and was my daily in the summer. Three summers and 30,000 miles, rust is coming through the paint, bubbles, sand scratches and so on. Now I consider it a driver quality.

I'm no young pup. 9 months, 4 days till retirement (but who's counting). I've restored a few cars now and I do love it. I've done my share of body work (taught by an old timer). I love the fabrication part but the block sanding is very tedious and hard work but it is what makes the paint job. I'm pretty **** about blocking. I hate to look down the side of a car and see waves like the ocean. It drives me friggin nuts. I have to do the work myself cause I'm not rich. Old school as it gets. I do have trepidation about finishing someone else's work only because I'm so damn picky. I figure I can tell from what I see if I want to continue with what has been started.

If it's metal is good, but it.

Does it come with interior? Trim, seats, numbers? Grill?

Good news. Going to pick up the 69 Roadrunner this Saturday if all checks out when I get there. It's about a 4 hour drive each way so I'm taking the trailer and hopefully bringing it home. Wooo Wooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$43 K for a rusted out RR is too much, even though it was a hemi car, the motor and trans are gone. Just because people are asking outrageous prices for some cars, doesn't mean they are getting it. I'm curious to see if it ever sold. Good luck with your project. Do you have pics?

Congrats.. show us pics when you get her home.
