Hey all,

Sorry if this is a silly question but I'm trying to figure out how the "belt molding" and cat whiskers attach to the lower rear interior and exterior quarter window glass panels. I think I may have the interior "belt molding" , if that's the correct term, installed incorrectly on the outside, instead of the inside. I have a kit that came with the car but I can't figure out how any seal or weather stripping attaches to that black, metal panel that hangs on the interior body metal, inside, just below the quarter window. The cat whiskers piece does not have clips attached but there are clips included in the kit. They look like they could pop into small little holes on the rubber backside of the cat whiskers. And do the cat whiskers go on the outside or inside?

Thanks,
Mikey

They staple on, many use rivets instead... find my Talladega or Bust thread in the member restoration section. I show how I stapled the new ones in my Superbird.

They use staples should be a little baggie in there with the whiskers. You should also see a the paired holes from where the staples were on the black panel

Awesome. Good info, thanks all. So just so I'm clear, the cat whisker pieces go on the inside and the V felt channel looking piece with the small chrome strip goes on the outside, correct?

Yes the V piece goes on the outside.

Oh man.. thanks Toxic.. that's perfect. I owe you a beer :)

Dan, thanks, I'll take a look for the holes. Not sure how I would get a staple in there or where I would even go for such a staple. Point me in the right direction and I can bend anything with pliers and a vise.

Thanks,
Mikey

Well then I owe you a beer, too :)

Thanks DB.

So.. I am intending to use my Bee as a DD. If inclement weather comes while I'm out, so bee it (get it?? HA.. lame Mopar humor... sorry). When driving in the rain, the water would be driven rearward by the wind down the V channel and goes into the car, then drains to????? In between the panels and out drain holes? My logic says yes.

Thanks,
Mikey

Hi all,

Where would one pick up the staples for the rear quarter window panel cat whiskers?
