69 superbee door window channel questions please advise.

ok, been a long time double checking some things. so we used non post doors on our 2dr POST car. We are switching the glass out and i have questions.

1. rear channel is it the same?? 2dr hdtp glass has that chrome strip on edge of glass, that goes inside the so the channel is wider. So we put 2dr POST glass in and it is very loose in the channel. is it a different channel?? is there just a different gasket that goes in the channel???


Also i have driver and passenger glass, one has hole drilled for the stop one dont is this a problem??

To answer your questions.

1. The rear channels are different along with the seals. The post one is much narrower since it only has to swallow the glass not the chrome window edge on the back of a hardtop piece of glass as you mention.

2. Without the stop on the post glass, it will creep higher than it should with the window all the way up. I forgot to install one and couldn't figure out why the glass suddenly didn't fit right when up. Installed the stop, problem solved. Yes, you will need it.

I don't have any photos showing the difference since my post channels are now installed in my car. The two different seals are shown at Megaparts website. See links. Hope this helps.

One glass must be from a 68 and the other 69-70 with stop on the glass. 68 has the stop located toward the center of the door inside structure and makes contact there. Some early 69 doors have the indent in the structure for the 68 stop design to bolt to and some don't. If you need a 68 stop let me know i have them
