We have just finished these up for the 70 B-Body disc brake metering valve covers. Almost impossible to find even in a used condition and if found, they are selling for hundreds of dollars. Correct in all details, this is one of those small detail items that many high end restorations are missing. If you are striving to correctly detail a 70 B-Body disc brake car, then this is one of those items that you may need.

This item retails at $69.95 and shipping within the continental US will be covered.

If any questions, please drop me an email at r.l.oshields@att.net. We have several other new pieces coming out as well, so keep an eye open for these as we get them ready for our customers.

Thanks,
Richard

When we were approached about doing this by a collector with a number of 70 B-Bodies, we were told that people were asking from $150 to $400 for this piece. Even at those prices, nobody wanted to sell one. We got lucky and actually found one that was still on a car awaiting restoration.

For what the value will be for the originals, they will always retain the value of an original part, but typically it seems that most original nice NOS pieces will correct to approximately half the price of the reproduction piece if the reproduction part is nice.

I would say that having the reproduction in one hand and the original in the other, you would be hard pressed to say which is which. Even though this piece is still pricey, it is another one of those detail items that separates the very nice restorations to the super nice restorations.

I have attached a picture of the cover installed as many people do not even know that they were installed from the factory.

I was actually surprised to find that the individual cover is listed in the parts manual as an independent part. But it was given a part number and serviced as an over the counter part if needed. I could see it being included with the metering valve assembly.

Good find on the NOS valve as those types of NOS valves and proportioning units are getting next to impossible to find as well, in good condition. I spoke to one of our manufactures concerning these valves and he told me that nobody is working on those pieces and did not foresee anything coming down the pipeline as a reproduction part.
