Hi

Well get used to me asking dumb questions as i am new to the world of Mopar, but anyway, :iamwithstupid:

I bought a 1970 charger a wile ago and i'm currently going through parts pick up stage, where i'm trying to find all the bits and pieces that are not reproduced. I have already found most things and I have just got a "B body rear seat" It not originally out of a charger and doesn't quite fit right!

I have a 69 Camaro also and I would think it would fit in in the same way where you slide the seat back in from top down locking down on the parcel tray and then the two tabs lock into the floor and then the bottom seat section pushes in and locks into place.

The seat fits in fine and holds into the parcel shelf good but the two tabs on the seat back seam to be way off from locking into the floor, so when you push in the bottom piece it lifts of the parcel shelf and nothing is tight or locked in! :eusa_think:

Is there something I am missing or a different way to put it all together? or like I suspect are the seats slightly different for each car and will I have to do a bit of modifying (to the bottom clips on the seat back) etc to make it all click into place.

Thanks guys

racetiger welcome to FBBO, your logic sounds right to me... what kind of B-Body did the seat come out of ??, that your trying to install in the 70 Charger... maybe go to the Welcome Wagon forum here also & introduce yourself, maybe also give us some background, some photos & other information... Especially some photos, of the 70 Charger, we are "car ****" whores here...LOL.... I forgive you for the Camaro deal, I'm a equal opportunity car guy also....

It's possible you have a 68 or earlier seat frame. The tabs on the bottom part of the seat back are in a different place, and as you found out they will not line up with the screw holes or tabs in the floor (don't recall which style for what year). You can make it work with a little hack and slash manufacturing and a welder.

Thanks guys, good to know I was on the right track.

I don't know what it came out of but when I bought it, it was advertised as:

"1968-69-70 REAR BENCH SEAT CORE B-BODY CHARGER SUPER BEE ROADRUNNER GTX"

Here is a picture let see if anyone can figure it out from that!

It looks like 68 deluxe to me....with the decor inserts cut out of it.
