Needing to replace a vinyl top on a '70 Charger and depending on replacement manufacturers currently available there seem to be two different styles the A-pillar sections ("front flaps") are made.
One style features "front flaps" made continuously from the side sections, making the top essentially 3-piece assembly (with only 2 longitudal seams)
Another style has "front flaps" as separate sections sewn on toward the top end of the A-pillar, making it a 5-piece assembly (with 4 seams, 2 longintudal and 2 at A-pillar tops)

So the question is, which style was originally featured on factory made/installed tops ?

Well, since no advise was forthcoming here I found it elsewhere. Turns out, just as I had suspected, vinyl tops originally installed by most auto manufacturers in the sixties and seventies didn't feature seams at the top of A-pillars and that's the type we purchased and installed.
I even had the manufacturer make it "fresh to order", package and ship it rolled up to prevent any wrinkles, all which added to initial material and shipping costs but made the installation much easier with beautiful end results.

Well, it appears the (3 piece) vinyl top manufacturer was impressed enough with final results of this job to use couple of my pictures of it for their marketing, at least on their on-line March Newsletter.
I've attached same pictures in their original, un-cropped format, here for posterity.

P.S. If moderators deem following inappropriate, please feel free to remove it along with this sentence.

If any one here is interested, I have identical vinyl top available below cost. I ordered two to have a "spare" on-hand in case something was to go wrong during installation. Both were made-to-order with special packaging and shipping as noted in my previous post
I've re-packaged this "extra" top same way (or perhaps with more care).
PM with contact info if interested.
If no interest here, I'll list on eBay in about a week or so.
Thank you.
