'70 Charger wire connector in search of mate

I finished installing new carpets in my '70 Charger, then reconnected all the wires at the driver side kick panel. Everything matched up except for this odd connector. I could not find it's mate anywhere. This is coming down from above, not from the rear of the car under the wire cover. What is this connector for?

It also looks like its melted. Might be time for a replacement or repairs.

Think NAPA sells replacement connectors through Standard. Bought one from my 86 CJ7
