Haven't put the 383 in yet. I did tune up the low compression 440 that was in it. Removed rusty headers, installed manifolds, replaced 484 cam with a mellower comp cam, put on a performer and thermoquad, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, replaced 40 series Flowmasters, and a ton of small maintenance stuff. It really runs strong and is much more of a pleasure to drive than it ever was. Buffed it and put on some new front tires too. With 3.91s it pulls well, and gets 10 mpg. Not so great on my 220 mile round trip over the weekend. But it was fun.
