Has anyone ever refaced the wood grain inserts? I tried restoring the 70 GTX inserts but not really that good. It’s the lower pic taken the top is the 69 charger that turned out really good. Has anyone used the aftermarket in the pics posted here. I’ve heard of refacing too not sure what route to go here if someone can help me with your expert opinions.
Thanks!!

Don't use the ones from YearOne ....if they still offer the pieces. Absolute garbage, and they couldn't see the problem when I sent the photographic proof of unsuitability for anything but the garbage can.

Font was close, but not spaced correctly, and the pre-cut holes were too big - you can see how much of the OE layer would be left exposed.

I kept these pieces just to prove to others how crappy they are. Ended up going with WhiteGauge - although not correct either, it looked a whole lot better than anything on the market at the time.

Yes sir I’ve seen your post on that. I seen this white Gauge too here on this forum. You’re the second person to give it a somewhat thumbs up for their material. Is it as easy as they say you lay them on wet? I’m interested. This 70 dash will be really nice but not so with the condition my inserts are at this time! I got lucky with the charger inserts. Yes the aftermarket’s on this thread is out of classic Cat. I don’t use year one anymore the shipping is too high. Just trying to using all OE parts to my best ability. Thanks for your help!!

As far as ease of laying down the decals....just make sure you have a good clean working space, and all the tools handy. A low-powered heat gun or hairdryer is useful also.

Take your time to read the instructions first, and don't rush the installation. Cleanliness is important.
