A friend's '70 Road Runner was running a motor plate instead the the regular mounts...but added power steering and the motor plate wouldn't clear the power steering pump, well he made a bracket for the pump....but because of the longer belt, he was throwing the belt off at high rpms...so he added this skateboard wheel...end of problem. muscle cars scs 097.jpgmuscle cars scs 098.jpg

How many rpm is that skate wheel good for?

Not sure....he hasn't had any problems, and its been on for well over a year.

that's some slick thinkin'...

the bearings in those wheels are pretty darn smooth. i dont know if they could take a full bore 5500+ rev for a sustained period, but as a "helper wheel" i think it would work.

dodge, have you laid eyes on the movement of the belt with the new addition? does it contact a lot?

IMHO, if you dont heat up the bearings you're golden! just make sure she's torqued down...

edit: i cheesed and didnt hit post reply lol...sheeeit, if it's been there for a year, bravo to your friend!! :headbang:

Belt sure looks crooked in the pics.

that's about the same size pulley that's on the factory AC cars for the water pump belt adjustment..pretty slick idea there
