Is there a breakdown of how many 71 383 3spd Road Runners where produced.

I have one source that shows:

~11,683 383-4bbl Road Runners built
~7,952 of those were automatics.

Leaving ~ 3,731 with manual transmissions.

Of that, I show ~ 3,375 four speeds.

If I've done my math correctly, that leaves ~356 383-4 three speeds.

Thanks guys sounds about right there couldn't have been to many produced, imagine going to a dealer & ordering a RR & not knowing you had to check off the box for 4spd.

I would like to know the 1972 numbers with the 400. Had and lost a rotted derelict one years ago.

Test drove a 71 roadrunner 4sp with all the bells and whistles. Also test drove a three speed 71 383, blackwalls, doggie dishes, taxicab bench seat. Bilious green. Battery died on the test drive cause nobody had driven it in the months it had been on the lot. (Rookie stick driver, i stalled it, wouldnt restart).Could have had it for $400 LESS than the Vega i ended up with (NOT MY choice) . Parents were worried I'd kill myself in the runner.

Vega ended up with nitroused 327, polished centerlines, and a narrowed 8 3/4 with 4.56s

I once had a 74 RR 318 3 spd, gun metal grey with a white/checkboard interior. I quickly made it a 340 4spd

So all but 2.5% of production had an optional transmission.

Interesting.
