I am working a engine builder for the 440 in my GTX and he was wondering what kind of clearance there was to support going to after market single plane manifold? I am assuming there should be enough clearance, but I was wondering if anyone ran into issues with this building their engines?

I do believe the six pack crossram was made to fit (with air cleaner), with no hood mod. I imagine a single plane wouldn't be an issue unless the air cleaner or stud is too tall.

If in doubt check it.
Remove the air cleaner stud, use the air cleaner base to make a pattern on a piece of ply, cut out the hole, lay it on the carb, get your kids play dough or some clay and make some tall stacks to place on the ply, close the hood slowly to crush the stacks, open the hood, measure the stacks, determine your clearance. Cheaper than denting the hood.

Got to love the ingenuity of FBBO members. I just bought a six pack hood.......
