71 variable wiper switch

Hi All,
I'm converting my 71 Charger standard dash to a rally style dash. The original 3 speed/variable wiper switch is too long to fit into the new dash. Are there any other year/body switches that will work with the 3 speed motor? I can't find any 71 rally switches at a reasonable price.
My other option is to try and cut down the original switch. Has anyone ever done that successfully?

and you won't find any at any reasoneable price. 71 is an one year only switch.

you could use a 72/74 3 speeds switch. will require the plug for it since is a diff prongs disposition and will loose the variable function since is a solid 3 speed switch ( non continuous variable sweep )

OR you can cut/modify the standard cluster switch. I have made it on a 72/74 switch. Dunno if is doable on 72 switch.

can't tell if some other body switch will fit but mostly sure could be on same price rate
