I have a question on the seat back frame on my 72 charger. If you look at the pictures, the seat back is bent and tips back further than the passenger side. Feels like you are sitting in a recliner. Any tricks to fixing this?
I smacked the steel cylinder that the latch hook latches onto with a fairly heavy hammer, swinging towards the front and slightly up.
Be careful because you could potentially pull that out of the seat frame and it's attached kinda funny from inside and might be a nightmare to reattach.
I will give that a try. I was thinking about removing the seat this weekend to look closer at it. I will see what I find and report back on the results.
Ok. This was the fix. I forgot to get a picture of it. I had a fitting laying around that was almost the same size ID as the pin on the seat that the seat back latches to. A little grinding and the fitting slide over the pin (with some inspiration). The latch was still large enough to fit over the over sized pin and still latch well. Just enough to straighten the seat up. Should work until I can do a rebuild of the seat frame.
