I bought a 72 Satty for my daughter and after seeing it had a rear typically used for big blocks it got me wondering if it was a BB car. On the broadcast sheet under the E Engine it has a 44, what does that mean?

Nevermind, it was a 318 car.

Most 318 cars came with the 8.25 rear, but I have seen some that were ordered with an 8.75. Then again, guys have done a LOT of swapping over the past 40+ years, so it helps to have references.

Pre-1967 8 3/4 on a 318 car is pretty common. 67 is transition, and 68 and up is pretty rare.
