727 input shaft sealing rings

I've used the soft rings that replace the iron rings before but they overlap like a gapless ring, the kit my customer brought me had 2 soft rings that just butt together, any issues with these.

I have used the teflon rings on several 727's. I found a dab of grease to hold the gap closed seems to work for assembly. They sure seem to function well.

These are softer than teflon and have no gap, I can't see how they can work but I called the company and they said it's the right part.
