Under the rubber mount on top of the cross member bracket there is a plate with a gasket under it and it is leaking. Hope somebody know what I'm referring to. I cannot seem to find reference to it on searches I've made. Anyone know where I would be able to find such a gasket? Going to try to make one, maybe that will work. The car is a 67 Coronet SB, and I think the trans. is a 1970ish. Thanks, Dave

Just off the top of my head, think your refering to the cover plate to the snap ring access for the tailshaft.

Easy deal on making a gasket for it. Getting to it...another matter...but, not that hard. Probably going to lose some fluid doing it.

X2. Any trans shop may have one laying around too, they're in every complete rebuild kit & I bet not used in many cases.

Remove the cross member and trans mount. 2 screws hold the plate on. Make a gasket. It's the same shape as the plate with two holes for screws. No need to drain the trans, there will be minimal fluid there.

Thanks a lot for the responses. I have the engine/trans. out now, so pretty easy job at this point. I did make a gasket from an extra transmission gasket. Dave
