I just bought a Year One top used, and it's not really what I expected. The grain is almost a tiger stripe pattern, and though the "strpies" are somewhat deep, there doesn't seem to be any cushion to it. Is this correct?

The grain, called cobra, should match that of the louvers.

Wow. (..and I don't say wow very often) Maybe it is right. I just figured it would be a more standard looking pattern.

Thanks for posting. For a while there I was thinking I might have got "got" on that one.

Paid $100 impulse buy. Tell me that was a good price....

BTW, the guy is in Deland and still has lots of other 73/74 parts. Has two cars (well, one is all but the unibody), both SE and both the same color!

I also got a perfect rear valence and a nearly perfect front one, and an a/c condenser.

Was a craigslist ad. Wish I had more time and money. Ad said $1500 for all including buckets, 2 p/w doors and a 318 with an Eddy carb.

Anything I should know about installing this top on a sunroof car?

The top is $175 new, so you got a good deal. The cobra pattern was only used on 73/74 SEs and is not padded. Don't know about the sunroof. Is it made for a sunroof car, cut opening or extra panel for the door? I don't know how they would come. Seems like there would be extra material for the well of the opening and overlap on the door edges. Like I said, I'm not sure. I just emailed the seller to see if he has some parts I'm after. Thanks.

Bad news. You have to buy another piece to cover the sunroof. Still be less than the top alone.
