73 charger trim

Ive noticed that on some 73 chargers, the trim that runs around the base of the window is missing. did it come from the factory like this? was the trim an extra option? personally i think it looks cleaner without it, so i may remove mine.

I believe it was an option.

Lots of "performance" cars did not come with this, as it adds to a monochromatic look.

My Satellite doesn't have it, or the drip rail trim.

There may be holes in the sheet metal for securing it.

My 73 SE has a very large one on the quarter.
