Will I hurt the value of my charger much, if I do not put the vinyl top back on?

73 340/auto - triple black

I would think it depends on what your plans are. Are you going to sell it or drive it? If you are going to sell, put the vinyl on if it came that way. If you are going to drive it, do it the way YOU want, it's YOUR car. You can always add the vinyl 10 years from now.

Planning on keeping it awhile, your right I can always add it later.

It will only be double black if you remove the top. Triple sounds better.Leave it on.
