I have guy who brought me a 73 satellite original 400 automatic. Someone had taken the vinyl top and side moldings off. The just puttied over the holes. He wants me to eliminate the weel well moldings. Its red and had a white vinyl with white interior. How rare is it ? If its kindve rare im going to try to talk him into putting that all back on. Also does anyone make quaters for that year ?

Does it have a fender tag? If it’s a factory 4 speed 400 car it’s rare. If it’s a 400 automatic it’s also rare but not as much as the 4 speed. If it is a plus model it’s even rarer and the vinyl top in a 400 is rare. Best I can find is less than 125 were made in Sebring Plus with 400’s. The motor combination is desirable. Does it have AC? If it has a fender tag post it here so it can be decoded.

Unless this car has certain combinations of features and options it is not terribly rare, and without certain option combinations it's not anywhere near the top of the desirability or value chart. Removing the wheel well trim, side trim or vinyl top is not going to kill value. They can be fairly easily reinstalled to the car in future by the next owner.

Unless there are recent developments that I am aware of, nobody makes new quarters for this car.

no fender tag the guy was looking for a 73 road runner but couldnt find one so he bought this one he didnt buy it because it has a 400 in it he just likes that body style it does have a/c it has the thermoquad carb

I have a 74 RR and I say that’s a nice car. Factory air and a 400 is a very nice combination. The engine alone unmolested is nice. That dual snorkel air cleaner alone is worth $$. If it was mine I would put it back together with the moldings and top.

I am a 73 Satellite owner and I concur with post #3.

...and I'll add- even though it looks reasonably solid, before investing a pile of money, especially in paint...

Carefully check the A pillar and door hinge area, and remove those screens and check as far into the cowl as possible.

I'm personally fond of this body style. I'd say be more concerned with doing it right, and the way the owner prefers, as rarity does not really matter here. Vinyl top and moldings can always be "added".

everything is pertty solid except for the quarters he just wants me to make it straight & put it under sealer so he can drive it while he saves up for quarter work & paint next year

If it was mine I would be doing exactly what he is. I never cared for that mid 70's trim either.
