'73 SE firewall question

Hi guys. '73 charger and it seems that something is missing on the fw in the cockpit on the drivers side. The carpet stops half way up and there is a hole there. I know something is supposed to cover it. I would assume a hard piece and then carpet up to under the dash but this is our first dodge so I really have no idea what it's supposed to look like. Any have any pictures?

Maybe I should explain a little more. The firewall is there. The hole to let the wiring through is there (and not a rust hole). The carpet or whatever cover is supposed to be there is not there. Looks like I need a plug and some kind of cover piece. A name and a place to order one would be great too.

Just to the left of the steering column, you have the hole for the speedo cable and just to the left of that is the hole for the E brake cable. In relation to those, where is the hole you refer to?

Ok, guys, I'm not asking about the hole. What I have is carpet running up from the flat part of the floor pan a couple of inches under the accelerator and it stops. Then there is nothing but FW metal. What i want to know is; what kind of cover am I missing and where can I get one? I guess there's also the possiblilty that somebody cut the carpet all the way across because the fw is visible for about a foot it seems like coming down from behind the dash. It could be as simple as a plug for the hole and new carpet.

The carpet line runs even with the rear point of the kick panel, straight across to about the center of the column, curves around the bottom of the column and acrosto about 1 1/2 inches above the pedal bracket, then rises a little higher towards the hump and then behind the end on the heater box.
