Does anyone have a picture of the leaf spring to rearend mount? I have a 73 charger with a 8 3/4 rearend and I’m wondering if it’s put together correctly I’m having trouble putting the rear shocks on, it was taken apart and somewhat put back together 15 years ago and has never been driven.

Appears to be in the correct spot to me.........Don't forget the washers.

Exactly what problem are you having? The spring plates are on there correctly (right/left & front/back anyway). Watch that there is a "locator pin" on top of the leaf springs that needs to fit inside a hole in the rear end's "leaf spring saddle". Also, you might double check that you have the correct shock....AND it could be that with the car up in the air, the spread between the upper & lower shock mounts is farther apart than the shocks are long....meaning, if they're the right shock, you may have to lower the car on its wheels (only slightly jacked up) to install the shocks. Shocks should be super easy to install.

Well I see an issue I think ! Is been awhile since I was under a 73-74 setup but I'm fairly certain your springs are to big ! In return that metal c shape deal isn't sitting flush agents the bottom as it should be! The spring being way bigger then stock looks about an 1/2" would lower the lower plate that much more ! So ...... how can we fix this and keep these springs ?
I understand this wasn't your org issue but this will become a big issue eventually and destroy some stuff that lower bushing will be able to move left and right some witch will he bad !

The problem I have is when the upper shock is connected it is probley a inch from being able to connect the bottom shocks almost like the shock is to short, I checked the part number for the shock and everything I seen say they are correct. I tried putting a jack under the leaf spring on one side at a time and still can’t get it connected, it’s been 15 years a go when I put the shocks and I have had so many chargers I’m not sure the shock brackets are correct for an 8 3/4 rearend.

Closer picture, the last post are you saying the bottom plate should be flat across instead of having a gap?

you need to jack the suspension to get the shocks on , usually on rear leaf cars.the travel of the shock limits leaf travel

Awwww.....wait a minute! Just in case I'm looking at the picture wrong....those shock plate studs (where the bottom of the shock bolts up), should be on the INSIDE of the springs, not on the outside (just checking).

Also, if the plates are on the correct side, then you may have to use two jacks, or another set of jack stands under the rear end, and lift both sides of the rear end up. OR, put wheels on the car and lower it off the jack stands until the wheels pushes the suspension closer together & the shocks will go on.

Finally, in the closeup picture I can see that you have "iso-link" suspension with the big rubber bushings around the springs where they bolt up. There is no gap & they're supposed to be that way in your year. Not so good for drag racing, but they make a smoother ride.

Here’s some more pictures excuse the mess I’m working on several different parts of the car
