Hi all, I have a project 40s pickup truck I want to fit a 440 into. Right now its got the original beam axle up front, what cheap option front subframe would you guys recommend without cutting off the front rails. IE Volare , whats out there option wise. Also looking for an 8 3/4 rear axle. Want both to be 60" track. I know this isnt all quite B body only stuff but out on a limb here in UK. shipping to me in UK not a problem, I have shipping contacts. Been restoring my 62 Polara conv for last coupla years and this site and you guys have been a godsend.
appreciate any input

I'm about to separate front and rear frame sections from a 67 Belvedere. You can possibly graft in the suspension with the right skills. I've seen some inspired work done posted here. Juse A Thought. PM me if interested in info.

Leave the I beam front axle in it.Looks cooler in my opinion and I cant stand ifs front in the old stuff

Yes I am still thinking of leaving the beam in, just perhaps need reassurance that it would hold up ok with a big block in there. Appreciate the springs would need poss refurb and better shocks but I would also want to upgrade the brakes, not necessarally to disc just better modern drums , its matching stuff up I, d have to work out. Do you think the steering box would be up to it as well?
appreciate all replies, thankyou.
