I have a 742 sure grip 4.10 gears brand new Richmond.Conplete pro rebuild but I can't travel. $900 plus ship by Fastenal.

looking to make a stock 741 case rearend a sure grip with 3:55, 3:73 or 3:91 not sure I believe I need just 3rd member with sure grip and correct gear ratio

If you have a stock 741 case with an open carrier, it is more than likely a 3.23 ratio. If you have the gear ratio you want, I have a nice used sure grip you could swap in. Just need to install the gear onto the carrier.

is this sure grip a clutch type or cone type? was it in a vehicle you drove, did it work good? and finally what kind of money are you looking for?

Here are some pics I just took of the Sure Grip. It is the Power Loc type and is in nice shape. 30 spline all look good. Has the pins intact, all 8 left hand bolts, Bearings and caps.
I have not personally used it. It has a 10/9/67 date on it. I bought it from a guy in Texas that said it came out of a 68 Charger that he swapped out for a Dana. I paid $200.00 for it a few years ago but didn't use it. You said in your thread, you wanted to travel for it. I'm in Eau Claire WI a bit more than 5 hours.

Not a problem. I may get around to installing it in my Sport Fury. That is what I bought it for anyway.
