8 and 3/4 yolk replacement

When changing a yoke on a 489 8 and 3/4 center section with a crush sleeve eliminator is the pinion gear adjustment Disturbed?

A lot of people say you should never reuse a crush sleeve. I have done it and ran it for a couple of years with no issues. Replaced it with an eliminator the next time we had it apart.

I've done that several times..... I mark the nut and shaft and get it back to where it was and also use a dab of red loctite.

So far it's worked fine for me but never had an 8 3/4 under either of my dedicated race cars and if I did, that dang crush sleeve would be GONE lol
