I recently bought a 360 out of a 86 ram charger, I torn down the motor and have started putting it back together. But now I am stuck on cylinder heads. I went to get the set that came with the engine machined (casting #4027596) the exhaust seats were cracked and I was turned away. No problem, bought a set of #3769974 heads thinking they have a hardened exhaust seat (and some better performance) but when I torn them down I didn't see one? Then, when I went to get these ones checked out they also have cracked exhaust seats (and still no hardened seat) I've also seen some forums say these cracks are repairable, or at least that cutting bigger valves can fix the problem.(picture attached) Information is greatly appreciated

Both those heads often are seen with cracks in seats
or between intake and exhaust seats. Sometimes, between
exhaust seats and spark plug hole.

Often, they do not necessarily leak but for the money we spend
on our heads and the fact that a pair of any of these heads (uncracked) can be
found for $150.00 a pair easily I find another set.

Of Course it is easy for me to say, I have a 100 pairs of heads on racks!
