98 Magnum 360 into a 62 Belvedere

External differences on the 98 Magnum engine that might complicate this install?

I'm by far no expert on 62's

The 318ci/5.2ltr or 360ci/5.9ltr Magnum {not the LA SB 273-360 Chrysler}
is a truck engine {the 5.9ltr is externally balanced too}
no installs in cars from the factory
{if you keep the EFI get the computer & harness from the donor vehicle too}
but the block & overall height & width
are narrower than the old Poly style V8's
it should fit easily, I would think

there are parts available to convert it over to a carb too

the Magnum OE exhaust & heads flow relatively well too
not much bolt in stuff for the swap probably {?}
maybe try over @ http://www.1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com

you may need a special oil pan, since they only came in trucks
the rear sump style may work thou, came in Rams & Dakota's/Durango's

Try a web site called magnum swap it has every thing you can think of for 318 of all types to a magnum 360.

Looked around and read all I could find on the Magnum swap, it is done quite often and seems easy enough. The electrical/computer/fuel injection seems to be the part to study. I knew the Magnum heads were prone to cracking. Maybe I should look into building a 360 LA with these parts I have available. Need to figure out what camshaft profile would work best with a 3700# car, 355 8.75 SG and 727 auto on the street. Maybe I should call a camshaft manufacturer?
I have 2 blocks, some heads, new stroker crank and rods, would need pistons.
Block: Cast Iron LA 360, over 0.60***
Crankshaft: Forged 4340 4.000 stroke***
Rods: I Beam 6.123***
Heads: Cast iron, IMM 2.02/1.60***

When I got into this I too wanted big muscle but realized quickly that new muscle is over powering us from the factory and it would take a lot of money to keep up so I decided on a respectable powered cruiser. I am building a slightly warmed over LA 360-3 engine from an RV and just enjoying the looks and gas pump photo shoots people take with their I phones. I would think you may be ahead of the game a little by going magnum but also working with what you have is respectable in its own right. What ever you do have fun with it. It took me a while to understand I didn't have to out run everything on the road to enjoy my car.

Pretty dammed nice. I was talking with a popular engine builder that visits this forum often and he said it should be no problem to build a 480HP non boosted engine for my car. Price was within my budget as well.
Does anyone know this guy in the videos screen name?
