I have a 69RR with Factory Air and the past owner painted the to and from A/C lines to the Radiator Black...I got the drivers side down to bare metal, I thought the lines were aluminum..Since they are starting to get surface rust they are not ?.:eusa_think:.I live in Hot Humid Florida..After I clean the line again what would be the best coating I could apply to keep these lines clean from surface rust? Or what other options do I have..Now I know why lines the were painted, but I know Black is not correct...Thanks in advance Rick

I had the same issue with mine. I found out the inside was rusted too! definitely not good for the compressor! This may not be the best way, but I soaked the inside with muratic acid to remove the rust and then I coated the outside with a clear coat after scotchbrighting the surface clean. I considered making new lines out of aluminum tubing, which would have been fine for my car, but if you are going for original, may not be for you. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.
