My 1972 Dodge Coronet has factory a/c. Since I can't get R12. What do I need to change to make it over to R134. Thanks:blob8:

You can buy adapter fittings to adapt it to R134 then charge it up. It will work but not as good as R12. It helps if tyou take some foam and seal the condenser to the radiator - that will force all the air to be pulled thru the condenser instead of between the cond & rad. I did this exact thing on my '72 dart and it worked pretty good even here in the desert. Good luck.

If you do a lot of low speed driving or stop and go city driving you may want to install an auxiliary fan.

134 will work but if you can find a mechanic that is certified, freon r12 is still available.. And with the cost of 134 at $13 a can, r12 at $25 is not so bad. You only need 3 cans.
