I actually had a friend with one back in the day and drove it. The turbo would kick in at the worst times and almost launch the car into the car in front of you or on a corner and break the tires free and lose steering...LOL

This things scoot pretty good. Most will do a 13 sec quarter or better.
(remember the "Scat Pack" was for 14 second cars)

I had a CS Daytona, and the worst issue with it (other than breaking transmission parts or having electrical problems every month), was torque steer.
Unexpected loss of traction via throttle or wet pavement could sometimes lead to an unintended lane change.

I had 2 in highschool. wrecked the first one in the snow. then used the insurance money and got another one.The first one was an 86 and it flew. I went to high school with a guy who had a 67 camaro 327 4 speed. We lined up one night and from a slow roll I walked right past him.
The glhs cars were the fastest, but still not 13's. I witnessed an omni glhs would do 14.1 bone stock. the charger was a little slower i think.

Ive never owned one but they seemed to be a pretty quick little thing just riding in one... I guess you cant beat that price if you like the body style of them.. i do like the color combo!

I fixed an 87' up for my sons first car."Shelby" model. Same size half axles, close ratio steering and transmission. A must have is a pressure gauge for the turbo. They were known for sticking waste gates. He took on an island in the local shopping center on a rainy night. Drove both front wheels back into the doors! Sold it for parts...
