30 years ago Fram was number one and has been going down hill ever since now near the bottom for quality

They can serve as a and example.
They were craps in the 80s. Owners of 302s were complaining of engine rattle on startup. Ford traced it to Fram filters and issued a TSB on it due to the crap anti drainback feature.
A friend had a new Mustang GT and took it to the dealer for the problem.
They had it for a few days and returned it with a Motorcraft filter. Problem solved.

I saw the title and the first thing that came to my mind was for target practice! I've heard about oil filters as silencers, but never reviewed it. Just be careful buying them!!!!
