about That car....

Again, sir you make stuff up.

You're the one who has been following these threads and posting negative comments about my car for the past 2 years but it's ME who is the instigating culprit and making things up!?!?!? That's funny.........

im just an old fart nowadays, fighting the big c.
youll never have to worry about me doing any of that backdoor stuff.
im Always gonna say what i have to say to your face.
altho, sometimes i dont say it the best way,a bit too blunt, whatever.
thats just how it is,lifes ride,i dont mean offense tho.

did you see what rich said tho, that was an interesting idea.
i thought of a mercury montego immediately...
and it does make sense.

I appreciate your candid demeanor! I did see what RC wrote but I still think that everyone is looking at the scenario through their limited knowledge about the topic. I don't mean that in a condescending way. It seems that everyone here is trying to determine what Roger Johnson said he saw and completely ignoring what he actually said he saw. I could understand if you guys had actually talked with Mr. Johnson but you haven't. (Please correct me if I'm wrong in that statement.) He was 22 years old and not some delusional Kid just walking around handing out mail. I've talked with him MANY times about the specifics surrounding his tenure at Chrysler. His Father had some type of relationship with 18 Chrysler Dealerships and Roger himself was an Automotive Enthusiast his entire Life. I've grilled him MANY times about the specifics we have been discussing here. I came right out and asked him if he was SURE about what he saw or if there was not a mistake or possibly that a B Body is what he might have seen. He laughed and corrected me by saying, "I guarantee that I know what a 4 Door car in Barracuda form looked like".

I would love for some of you to talk with him in person. I'm not saying he would change the way you feel but I doubt that ANY of you would think he's senile or lying. He is one of the nicest, quick witted persons you will meet. The guy is as sharp as a 35 year old Man and is a wealth of knowledge about the Automotive World. It's what he has done all his life. He has worked with CNN and has written for just about every Auto Publication that has existed in the last 35 years. I think he is currently involved with the write up of the vehicles that pass through the Barrett Jackson Auctions. Below is a link showing some of his credentials.

Well early in this saga, you made the statement that people read as that Chrysler actually made a running prototype of this 4 door. That's what started the whole thing. Coupla months ago, you said that you apologized for that. I went back to your early posts and saw that. So I pm'ed you to offer an apology. You got belligerent and threatened me. Until that point, I never said anything derogatory towards the design. Only recently did I remark about my thoughts regarding aesthetics.I did not and do not lie about things I have recalled.

You are gravely mistaken. I NEVER "threaten" anyone! I am more than willing and able to stand behind ANYTHING I say I'll do to people who continue to poke, harass and stalk me while looking for trouble. Is that easy enough for you to understand?

your statement statement is very telling..

You have the last word, that is what you want

erm..this is going nowheres...
this is not tennis,
lets not keep thwacking the same shot over the net....

Did I say it to you personally? Did I force you to post your rude and mocking remarks that you started with on the DC.com forum? Did I force you to follow me here or to the other forums where you continue to stalk and ruin my threads? Or was your good friend tufcat the one who ultimately persuaded you to join in and tag team with his harassing efforts?

I don't get this.

If someone makes a technically inaccurate and critical observation about ECS' build, that person will then receive harsh words from ECS.
If someone makes a technically accurate and critical observation about ECS' build, that person will then receive harsh words from ECS.
If someone makes a technically inaccurate and non-critical observation about ECS' build, that person will then receive harsh words from ECS.
If someone makes a technically accurate and non-critical observation about ECS' build, that person will still receive harsh words from ECS.

There is no hope or opportunity for a continued, civil, two-way discussion.

so far the thread has had its ups n downs...
lets hope for more up...

btw he responded quite civilly to several of my posts.
is he a high strung guy? yes
is he a bit bullying or overbearing? yes
is he passionate about his dream build? yes
is he sane and capable of carrying a conversation? yes.

Hey, so long as the lawn furniture doesn't have a Chrysler VIN, I'm cool with it :p

Then let me help you to understand. When you make statements or ask a question about the project, I'll be MORE than happy (and considerate) in giving you an answer. When you continue to belabor that point and it becomes obvious that your comments are nothing more than an attempt to disparage or start an argument, I'll respond the way I feel appropriate.

You personally have been one of the naysayers that continues to tell people things about the build that is COMPLETELY false. I asked you in the A Body Forum to stop gossiping and providing "build" information that you knew nothing about. You have told people many things that were wrong about the build and then became defiant when I asked where you were getting your incorrect information from. There are only 2 people who can provide accurate information about the build of this car and that's Steve Been and myself. Other than that, we should get along just fine!

.................
it might be interesting to see a better side view of the aussie version?

Here's an albeit fleeting side view of my buddy's XA Falcon GT (genuine) and it's red just like the car in question;

Looks kinda Barracuda'ish if you squint hard and look sideways....

Wow. Only now did I realize that the quarter windows and posts on the 4-door XA/XB bear quite a resemblance to Challenger rear quarter windows, even though the Ford windows are framed.

is he a bit bullying........yes

I think you have that one backwards. A bully is the one who initiates and starts the trouble. You may not like the way I respond but I have NEVER initiated the trouble with the people posting in these project threads. You said I sent you a nasty PM but I can assure you that I didn't just pick your name from the forum board and attack you. If you are truthful, you'll have to admit that I took a TON of unsolicited, insulting comments from you. I can assure you that you did not come on the 4 Door thread with kind remarks and I responded by being a jerk. I know that I don't operate that way.

Many of these guys think they can ram rod someone and the people they ram rod are suppose to cower down and ask for more. Like I said earlier, show me where I made the first negative comments with those who willingly come to these threads. Just like with this one, it starts with someone criticizing and/or mocking me and when I respond by giving people a taste of their own medicine, then I'M the "bully". Not hardly............

We're good now!!! Any issues from the past are behind us. I've also had some good conversation and correspondence with moparnation74. I hope everyone will continue to get along!!!

TUFCAT keeps getting mentioned by YOU? Why focus on someone who is not here at all? He's hasn't been around in many months.
Thats very troubling!

That car is very nice! I have never seen one before and it really does look like a 4 Door Barracuda........even without squinting.

ECS may be shocked but:thumbsup:

Sadly, Dave, that seems to be how society is anymore. The one who has to defend themselves is the one left holding the bag and is the one who gets jammed up and in trouble. The offender usually gets off clean and free. We just had a fatal accident go to Grand Jury in the next town over from us where I work where a long time auto parts store owner was hit by a drunk driver who was almost two times over the limit and also on cocaine and crushed this man in the parking lot of his own business. It was captured on video from his business' surveillance cameras showing her all over the road before veering into the parking lot and the idiotic members of the grand jury acquitted this woman. The sad thing was that it was not her first DWI either. The man left behind a wife and twin daughters who now will grow up without a father.
