I wish I documented & took photos back then
I think my dad may have some slides of a couple of my 1st cars/trucks/Jeep
If I could find them...
One of my former race partners wife, Dee has some video/VHS stuff
of a few of the racecars, with a few of our drivers or the trucks etc.
in the backgrounds
from the mid 80's to 90's
I'd like to have a nice clear color shot of my
68 Charger R/T I bought in 1974, for $350
69k miles, GG1 & Black top & interior, from a divorced ex-wife of the Sherrif
who lived down the road across the way, I knew well...
I bought it the day before I turned 15, I got my learners permit,
the very the next day...
(or probably 85% or more of all the cars I had since then, until early 2000)
Especially when I put the Crager's S/ST 15x10" on the back
& N50/15s Pro-Tracs on it, & G70/15s on 15x6" (or 7" ?) on the front,
almost Literally Day 2, they totally transformed that car,
it had full OE Hubcaps before that...
IIRC the wheels & tires were almost as much as I paid for the whole car...
From, Parnelli Jones Firestone in Antioch Ca.
Spent every penny I earned all summer working at Paul Petterson Shell
Georgetown Ca., for $1.65 an hr., after school, filling logging trucks
washing them down, wash the mud off so they didn't get ticked by the CHP
& cleaning windows,
With occasional service side, tire repair & easy tune up stuff
Paul paid me with gas, fill my motorcycle tank & sometimes $5 or $10 cash
for the extra stuff & I got pretty good tips from the truckdrivers too...
&
Worked for my dad's, construction co., Add On Home Improvements,
mostly in Auburn Ca., building/installing Alum. awnings & redwood decks,
on weekends, in a couple mobile home parks, slaving my *** off,
for $20 a day, 10-12+ hrs a day...
It was totally worth it, after I got that car...
I had for 20-ish+ years & sold to my cousin Joe, who totaled it 2 weeks later...
I have a select few Polaroids of a few on my old racecars, late 70's early 80s
1 of my now 13 RRs
very lil' of the rest, until recently a 30 year span of no cars/photos...
