Adjusting new Edelbrock

Should be real easy to tell, once cable is in place. Just check for movement, arm vs cable end.
I just luck out??? Two 1405 Eddys, no added bracket, but all fit like a glove. Just had to 'operate', to swap sides for the fuel inlets.
Do you know which one?

Not sure what your asking...

Sure, you went from 2-barrel to 4-barrel, and intakes. Again, from your pics, throttle cable 'should' work, since it's long enough. That's the main thing on it...of course, if it was too short, that would be a problem.
The cable itself is only going to move a given distance. And, the location on the carb throttle arm, where the pivot bolt is, will only move a certain distance.
So...are they close to the same? Or, way off? That will tell you if a bracket is needed, that changes the arm travels, from idle to WOT...the arm hits a stop when it gets to WOT.

Sorry - replied to the wrong post :) It looks like the end of the cable with the metal bit is too close to the carb - which is impeding the travel, as when it tries to open up, th metal end of the rod hits the thing that's supposed to be in the bracket - bit it's not in the bracket. I think that's my problem.

Just to ask,,the throttle bracket, is it from the 2bbl set up? If so Mancini has the bracket for the 340 4bbl both stick and auto for 30 something bucks.I was in the same boat when I went from a 2bbl to a 4bbl on a 273.Solved my problems.Just a thought..
Do you know the part number?

Doesn't have to be exactly the same. Main thing is the cable will move the throttle arm the full swing.

Mancini #HF0060 1968-73 340 throttle cable bracket for automatic. $33.95....................

Awesome. Thanks so much all. I'll let you know how it works out. Next up: headers...

Glad to be of help. That's what this place is all about.......

I found a 4 barrel bracket, then I had to shim it with longer bolts to get the cable on a straight pull back, straighter the better. But to get it exactly where I wanted it I also drilled a hole in the linkage and reattached the cable end...

That's exactly my problem! 273 2 bbl to 4...thanks!
try removing the trans kick down linkage, then adjust the throttle cable for full throttle and idle. Once this is done then you can work on the kick down.

Edelbrock AVS Thunder on a stock intake, 1/2" spacer under carb to clear the stock intakes' choke well with the carbs' linkage on the other side. Stock throttle cable bracket. Edelbrocks' Mopar throttle bracket bolted on. Pulls smooth and clean all the way to WOT.
