Hey you guys that have aftermarket type A/C units. Can an after market A/C such as vintage air etc. be installed after car is together? Or does the dash have to come out. I have a finished car that I want to install A/C in. Just don't want to tear it all down again. Thanks in advance.

No need to remove the dash, just pull the air box out from under it and put the new one in. I've seen some people recommend pulling the passenger seat out to make a little more room getting them in and out of the car but I didn't need to do that with the classic air install in my '69.

Yes. Hokey-underdash vents included. I used Classic Auto Air Tampa. Ice cold-9 years.

Thanks for the info. Should have thought about it before the build. But didn't know I would drive it that much.

Look at Vintage Air or Southern Air. Order up catalog. They will have measurements and recommendations. It is very doable. Vintages' air and heat units are very good and can be retro fitted. You can call them for tech help before you buy to get recommendations. Dave
