Aftermarket alternator.

Powermaster makes a wide variety from all manufacturers. Later model Mopars that used Denso stuff is good. It bolts on with minimal mods and uses the stock wiring. Thought I'd add a new output cable to the battery. I run both styles The race car has a GM 10SI Powermaster 145 amp 16 volt. Street car a 110 amp Denso. Both work well.

I use a 130amp tuff stuff with external regulator. I use the later digital regulator and have upgraded the power wiring to handle the additional load. I retained the ammeter. I have zero issues and run a “stereo”, full msd and a/c. Probably overkill but it gave me peace of mind.

69 net. 440, new harness, bee cool radiator with 30 amp each fans. Keeps blowing fuses per tuff stuff my “high output” alt can’t keep up.
How do you have your added loads wired? Which Tuff Stuff alternator are you running? What fuses are blowing? 60amps of fans? Has that been measured/confirmed as the actual current draw for the fans?

Running 130amp Tuff Stuff alts on all my cars, appropriate wiring mods, tons of correctly placed add-on loads, stock ammeters, no issues.

An alternator won’t blown any fuse by its output. Not even by a high voltage failure. Fuses don’t blow by voltage but amperage and this is requested by the devices, not pushed in by the source. Diff stuff is an internal fail causing a short, but in that case the fail will be different.

It may be beneficial for you to install a PWM[ pulse width modulation] type of fan controller. Your current fans have a 30 amp rating. But...when they light off the load is probably closer to 50 which causes problems since its instant on. The PWM unit will make the fan/fans ramp up slowly so the electrical system does not get the hard startup hit. The latest Modern Rodding magazine has a really great article on just that subject. Look for the July issue See if you can find one. Proform is the company who makes the unit supplied in that article. I just looked on their website, but the article is not shown just yet. Speedway supplied them with the Proform package, but don't see any articles there.

The fuse will not blow from output. BUT your light bulbs will, however only the light bulbs that are on. Ask me how I know.
