Aftermarket head / roller rocker not mating together

I had to do surgery on the outer pedestals with a set of 240s once.. for a set of comp ss rollers.

The shims will wear the alum pedestal, post #8? Don't think so.....
The original 1958/9 factory heads came with alum blocks pushed onto the shaft & acted as the hold-downs. No shims used, rockers in contact with the alum..& no wear. Not sure what year the alum blocks stopped.

Not sure if the PRW stainless rockers are the same as the CAT stainless rockers, but my CAT stainless rockers (1.7:1 ratio) the roller tips and adjusters did not seem to be hardened correctly and started wearing out with only a few hundred miles on them? The rocker bodies actually seemed pretty nice with good pattern on the valve tips, but everything else was junk. I might have them rebuilt with good roller tips and adjusters to try them again as the cost of rocker arms have gotten crazy expensive.

Rockers on mopars are one place where “budget” options are anything but!

440 Source rocker hold downs are much wider than the heads. Ha. But feeling much better about shaving these replaceable pieces over the heads.

Will be test fitting prw, shaved 440 source hold downs and Pushrods this weekend.

But are the roller tips centered on the valve tips???
