Air Grabber air cleaner

69 Roadrunner 440.

I have a 440 air grabber air cleaner, street dominator, 650 eldobrock carb.

Air cleaner too tall.
If I install a stock intake take with the eldebrock carb will it fit under der the hood?

Can I change the carb and still use the street dominator intake?

Are you sure the air cleaner base is for a 440, and not a 383? 383 base is taller than the 440 version.

I have both. 440 base is lower

Well those have been discontinued. I will look for one and see if they have a newer version that is low.

I have that intake and an edelbrock carb on my 440. The air grabber stuff isn’t installed yet as the rear of the air cleaner metal hits the hood. Just hits, line to line. I am probably going to cut some height off the reproduction 440 base. Not sure how much I need so will have to sneak up on it.

I don't know if an Edelbrock carb is taller than a 4150 Holley, maybe that's enough to make a difference.

I have the CH4B intake. Still tight with the edelbrock. May be that the stiffners on my hood were worked to flatten out a damaged hood though. I think that’s where I’m at anyway.

I put a regular air cleaner on the CH4B and it hits just like the air grabber air cleaner. I guess im going to have to shim the k member.



Air Grabber does have the 440 base.
