Hey resto guru's! Were the fiberglass parts painted black from the factory and did they paint over the little rivets and the cable brackets as well? Any other detailing tips you can pass on would be appreciated. Thanks much.

Nope. They weren't painted.....and that's a problem for one that needs "refreshing". Greg asked about this and I think I've seen where someone is offering a "paint" that mimics the look of the original fiberglas. And no, the rivets weren't painted

Years ago I bead blasted the black paint off and painted the bare surface with clear and it looked really good, but now with all the glass and epoxy work I need to do it will be harder to cover a multitude of sins!! Thanks for the info.

If all else fails, the air boxes are being reproduced now.

The Ram Man , restores Air Grabber and Ramcharger air boxes , he also sells the correct hardware to mount the air cleaner seals and the box and the box and ducts to the bottom of the hood.
