I converted my Alt to a Volts gauge and was going to connect it to the back of the fuse box to a switched connection, since I don't have A/C and most likely won't use the heater.
I have all new harnesses that I am ready to install. I am doing to connect the alternator gauge wires together, to bypass the unused gauge.

Just want to see if anyone's had any issues?

You will be fine doing it that way. Mine is hooked at the cluster circuit board to the voltage limiters 12 volt keyed source so no need for extra wires.

power is 12v there? and ground to the case?
I edited my post. My voltmeter was calibrated off the limiter. Just tap into the wire at the circuit board plug or use a wire tab like the limiter has for the suppressor and go off the 12 volt feed.

I might use the wiper washer 12v blade and add a connection.
Did you connect your alt gauge wires with a screw and solder the connection and shrink wrap it?

That can work for a power source. I did bolt, solder, and, tape the wires.
